Robert Vehovec Joins ROADPOL Executive Committee

ROADPOL is proud to welcome Robert Vehovec of Slovenia as a newly elected member of the Executive Committee, following his election at the latest ROADPOL Council Meeting in Budapest.

Although Robert has long been part of the ROADPOL family, often working quietly in the background, this new role marks a significant step forward in his continued dedication to the organization. As a member of the Executive Committee, he will now be directly involved in shaping and executing ROADPOL’s strategic direction, as defined by the Council.

Experience

Robert brings with him 25 years of distinguished police service. He began his career as a police officer at a local station before joining the National Traffic Control Unit, where he advanced from officer to Patrol and Team Leader. Alongside his service, Robert pursued higher education at the College of Police and Security Studies, graduating in 2007. His professional growth continued with a promotion to Deputy Chief of the National Traffic Control Unit in 2008.

Carreer

In 2009, Robert moved to the General Police Directorate’s Traffic Police Division as a Police Inspector, later becoming a Senior Police Inspector. During this time, he also served as Slovenia’s representative in the TISPOL Operations Group, deepening his involvement in international road safety cooperation. In 2012, he completed a Master of Law degree at the European Faculty of Law.

Activities

Today, Robert leads the Highways Police Department within Slovenia’s General Police Directorate, where he focuses on innovation in enforcement through the introduction of new technologies and methodologies. His active engagement in ROADPOL’s work and international cooperation continues to make a meaningful contribution to road safety across Europe.
