The Police of the Polish Subcarpathian Voivodeship received a major upgrade of its fleet.

Thanks to budgetary funds, the Police Modernization Program, the Assistance Fund, and additional contributions from local governments through the Police Support Fund and OST-112, the Provincial Police Headquarters in Rzeszów acquired 78 transport vehicles at a total cost of 3,5 mln. euro. These included cars, ATVs, and trailers. An additional 40 000 euro was allocated for vehicle modifications and adaptations.

Process

Through a joint procurement process funded by the Police Modernization Program and local government contributions to the Police Support Fund, it was possible to purchase 23 vehicles worth 960 000 euro.  A total of 2,09 mln. euro was allocated from central deliveries, providing 22 additional vehicles. These included marked and unmarked vans, unmarked off-road vehicles, and specialized transport, such as an ambulance and a bus. The total value of all transport-related purchases and deliveries for the Provincial Police Headquarters in Rzeszów last year amounted to 6,6 mln. euro.

Vehicles

The newly acquired vehicles, including Kia Ceed, Sportage, Toyota Corolla, Proace City Verso, Isuzu D-Max, Renault Trafic, and Mercedes models, as well as ATVs, were distributed among the Provincial Police Headquarters in Rzeszów and municipal and district police units across the Subcarpathian region. Marked vehicles were assigned to traffic and patrol units, while unmarked cars were primarily designated for criminal investigations.

Hopes

These modern vehicles boast excellent technical specifications and are equipped with a range of advanced safety systems, including traction control, ABS, and airbags, ensuring officers’ security on duty. The upgraded transport fleet will undoubtedly enhance mobility for all police departments, improving their ability to respond swiftly and effectively to incidents, the Police informed.
