  • Post category:News

ROADPOL finished another successful Master class on Digital Tachograph Security.

From October 14 to 18 a Tachograph Anti-Manipulation Masterclass was held in Hasselt, Belgium by ROADPOL. This was the second masterclass organized this year by the network together with the Euro Contrôle Route European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation Limited (ECR EGTC), continuing their commitment to the professional development of traffic enforcers across Europe.

Participants

The masterclass brought together 15 participants from a wide array of European countries, including Cyprus, Ireland, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Latvia, Sweden, and France. Trainers from ROADPOL (Sven Kilian from the Police of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate and Frederic Martin from Belgian Federal Police) and ECR provided in-depth sessions, covering crucial aspects of tachograph technology and manipulation detection.

Goals

This training is part of the permanent education efforts outlined in Article 39 of Regulation 165/2014 and reinforced by the recently published Commission Implementing Regulation 2024/1886. These regulations stress the importance of initial and ongoing training for enforcement officers. The participants received certificates upon completion of the course, confirming their proficiency in tachograph manipulation detection. ROADPOL and ECR plan to continue offering these masterclasses in the future, either individually or in partnership, to support EU member states in training their traffic inspectors and meeting regulatory requirements.
