SLOVENIA: Robert Vehovec

Robert Vehovec has dedicated 25 years to the police force, beginning his career as a police officer at a local station. A year later, he transitioned to the National Traffic Control Unit, initially as an officer and then as a “Patrol and Team Leader.” During this period, he pursued studies at the College of Police and Security Studies, graduating in 2007. In 2008, he was promoted to Deputy Chief of the National Traffic Control Unit.

In 2009, Vehovec began working at the General Police Directorate, Traffic Police Division, as a Police Inspector, eventually advancing to Senior Police Inspector. Concurrently, he became Slovenia’s representative in the TISPOL Operations Group. He furthered his education, earning a Master of Law degree from the European Faculty of Law in 2012.

Currently, Vehovec serves as the Head of the Highways Police Department within the General Police Directorate’s Traffic Police Division. He is actively involved in introducing new technologies and methodologies in enforcement and plays a key role in international cooperation as Slovenia’s representative in Roadpol, where he serves as a Council member.
