
Slaviša Lakićević, Head of the Traffic Police Directorate at the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, has an extensive background in law enforcement. He graduated from the Police Academy and the Faculty of Law and began his career in 1994 at the Secretariat of Internal Affairs in Priština. By 1998, he had taken on managerial roles, first in Priština, and later in Niš and Smederevo.
He also served in special police units, where he held leadership positions, including Company Commander and Assistant Commander of the Intervention Units within the Serbian Police.
In 2010, Mr. Lakićević joined the Traffic Police Directorate, focusing on promoting, organizing, and optimizing the Directorate’s operations, as well as enhancing cooperation with other traffic safety entities. The following year, he was promoted to Assistant Head of the Directorate.
From December 2020 to October 2021, he served as Acting Head of the Police Directorate in Zrenjanin. In October 2021, he was appointed Acting Head of the Traffic Police Directorate, and since December 2021, he has held the position of Head of the Traffic Police Directorate.
Mr. Lakićević is a graduate of the 12th class of Higher Security and Defense Studies at the University of Defense within the Ministry of Defense. He played a key role in drafting several crucial legal frameworks, including the first Strategic Public Security Assessment of the Ministry of Interior, the Law on Police, the Law on Road Traffic Safety, and the Road Traffic Safety Strategy.
He currently serves as president of the Collegium of Expert Working Groups within the Body for the Coordination of Traffic Safety Affairs and leads the Expert Working Group focused on improving the effectiveness of the Traffic Police, Courts, and Prosecutor’s Offices. Additionally, he is a member of various working groups dedicated to police and security matters.
Mr. Lakićević is married and has two children.
